However, there will be times when knowing exactly how much space a folder occupies is genuinely useful. Go ahead and enable the same option to view folder sizes at this location as well. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To reverse the folder size view, all you have to do is uncheck the <strong>Calculate all sizes<\/strong> option. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Tip<\/strong>: if <a href=\"https:\/\/maketecheasier.com\/fix-finder-search-not-working-mac\/\">Finder stops working on your Mac<\/a>, try these fixes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"switch-to-preview-panel\">2. Switch to the Preview Panel<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you need to check folder sizes sporadically, you can quickly turn on the preview panel and view the info from there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Select the folder in question in your panel and press <kbd>Shift<\/kbd> + <kbd>Command<\/kbd> + <kbd>P<\/kbd>. Via the Get Info\/Show Inspector Option<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You might not like the Preview panel taking the extra space in your Finder. What you can do instead is bring up the <strong>Get Info<\/strong> window.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Navigate to the folder in question on your Mac and right-click it. Then select <strong>Get info<\/strong>. Instead, navigate to a folder and right-click it. Now press the <kbd>Option<\/kbd> button. You&#8217;ll notice the <strong>Get info<\/strong> option changing into <strong>Show inspector<\/strong>. Click it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A similar panel to the <strong>Get info<\/strong> one will show up for you. Check <strong>Size <\/strong>for the info you&#8217;re looking for. Use the Terminal<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you prefer to do things through the Terminal, here&#8217;s how to view multiple folder sizes at once. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Open the Terminal on your Mac (you can launch it through Spotlight). Change to a directory that contains several folders. These may include system folders and:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>~\/Documents<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>~\/Desktop<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>~\/Downloads<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>To fix this, you&#8217;ll need to grant Terminal full disk access. If so, toggle it on.
